Children's data

The short version

A child cannot meaningfully consent to anything, so we do not ask them to. Consent belongs to the guardian, is recorded per purpose, and can be withdrawn at any time.

What we will not do

• We do not advertise to children, and we do not sell or share their data with advertisers
• We do not profile children for any commercial purpose
• We do not track a child's location. KidMetrics records which reader was tapped, at a fixed gate. Nothing on the child reports position, and under the Act nothing could
• We do not send a child's name, work or marks to any AI provider
• We do not show a class ranking. Results are framed against the learner's own last result

Under-thirteens

Open AI chat is disabled. The screen tells the learner why rather than hiding the feature.

What a teacher can see

For learners thirteen and over who use the study helper, every question is visible to their own teachers, and the learner is told this on their own screen. That visibility is the condition on which offering it is defensible at all.

Photographs

Photography and the use of images in publicity are two separate consents, because they are two separate decisions. Withholding one does not withhold the other.
