Almost nothing on these calendars is stored as a calendar entry. Lessons come from the timetable, examinations from the exam record, trips from activities, fee dates from the invoice ledger, homework from assignments and returns from library loans. They are assembled when the page opens, so the calendar cannot disagree with the records it describes — which is the usual failure of a school calendar kept as a separate list somebody has to remember to update. Only genuinely calendar-shaped things, like holidays and term dates, are stored, because nothing else in the system knows about them.
