A child leaving school during the day with an adult is the highest-consequence routine event a school handles. A pass records who authorised it, who is collecting and on what relationship, and carries a code the gate scans rather than reads off a paper slip. Issuing a learner pass notifies the guardian immediately — that notification is the safeguard, not the paper. Movements are recorded, never edited: issued, out, returned. A used pass cannot be reused and an expired one will not verify.
